Collaboration with Grundium
View, Scan, and Share Your Slides Anytime, Anywhere

Olympus is proud to partner with Grundium to offer Grundium Ocus® digital slide scanners with Olympus X Line objectives as part of our digital imaging solutions.

The demand for remote image sharing and telepathology continues to grow, especially now that virtual collaborations are becoming the norm. Having the ability to easily scan slides and view images remotely provides flexibility for users at a distance and promotes open collaboration. Grundium is known for its small slide scanners, which are easily transportable and user-friendly and provide flawless, high-resolution images.

Create and Share Quality Digital Slides Where and When You Need Them

Ocus scanners provide full local and remote control of the scanned image and live image. Choose to scan slides, view slides in real-time, or start a shared session with up to 8 individuals.

  • Scan the whole slide or regions of interest and add up to 5 optical z-sections.
  • Use Live mode and view slides in real-time. Control the slide movement, magnification, and focus adjustment.
  • Activate the Sharing function to create a secure session with a session-specific link. Participants can take control of the scanner during a shared session.

X Line | Edison Awards Gold 2020 Winner | Innovators Awards Silver Honoree

Olympus high-performance X Line objectives provide the brightness, resolution, and color accuracy that pathology requires thanks to a high numerical aperture (NA), improved image flatness, and a wide chromatic correction range.

Capture Flawless, High-Resolution Digital Slides

Ocus scanners incorporate Olympus X Line objectives, providing high numerical aperture (NA) and a high resolution. Acquire high-quality images with:

  • Sharp detail
  • Precise color reproduction
  • An even field of view, including the peripheral

Ocus scanners are fast. The software can autoselect a region of interest for quick scanning, minimizing additional clicks and saving time. Easily add up to 5 optical z-sections while the continuous autofocus keeps the sample in focus throughout the entire scan.

Everything Is Included for Your Digital Slide Scanning Needs

Grundium Ocus scanners include all the necessary hardware, including 500 GB of image storage and onboard software, for scanning, archiving, and sharing your images.

Control the scanner and view scanned images via its web-based interface, using any PC, tablet, or smartphone. There is no additional software to download, just log in from anywhere and start scanning and viewing your images.

Quick and Easy Setup with User-Friendly Software

Thanks to its small size and user-friendly web-based software, you can quickly set up the scanner in around 5–10 minutes, even for the first time. Learning to operate the scanner is equally fast and efficient due to its simple user interface controlled using a mouse or through intuitive touch-screen gestures.

Ocus scanners provide 3 different connection options:

  • Local—Ethernet or wireless local area access to Internet: used when the scanner and user are on the same local network.
  • Remote—Internet access needed: used when the scanner and user are in different locations.
  • WLAN Access Point—no Internet access required. The scanner acts as a wireless local network (WLAN) access point (software options are limited).

Small Enough to Fit into Tight Spaces and to Pick Up and Go

When space is limited, the compact design of Ocus scanners comes in handy. Their robust yet lightweight aluminum frame provides stability and portability. The carrying case enables you to secure the scanner to take it with you when you travel.
