Studying Compound Effects in 3D Complex Cellular Models: Integration of Multiphoton-Microscopy with Microfluidics

The presentation covers technical aspects for optimizing imaging assays when working with 3D complex cellular models. In addition, the integration of microfluidics with microscopy for studying compound effects and simulating in vivo pharmacological drug exposure are explained.

Presenter: Martin Rausch, Microscopy and BioPhotonics Group, Novartis institutes for BioMedical Research

Martin Rausch

Martin Rausch is the Director of Analytical Sciences and Imaging at the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research in Basel, Switzerland. After studying Physics at the University of Marburg, he completed postgraduate studies and postdoctoral fellowships in the areas of neurophysiology and radiology before joining Novartis in 2001. His technical expertise and interests include light microscopy (in particular, confocal, two-photon, and super-resolution microscopy), microfluidics, mechanology, and 3D cell culture.
