Confocal Super Resolution for All Live Cell Samples

IXplore SpinSR

Achieve high-level super resolution 3D imaging down to 120 nm XY with the IXplore SpinSR confocal super resolution microscope. Its spinning disk system limits both phototoxicity and bleaching, providing imaging conditions conducive to live specimens. Easily switch between widefield, confocal, and super resolution as needed with a click of a button. The IXplore SpinSR can create accurate 3D reconstructions thanks to our high NA silicone immersion objective, which can minimize spherical aberration.

  • Super resolution down to 120 nm XY resolution
  • Prolonged cell viability in confocal time-lapse imaging due to less phototoxicity and bleaching
  • Switch between widefield, confocal, and super resolution with one click
  • Super resolution imaging with the world’s first plan apochromat objectives with a numerical aperture (NA) of 1.5*

* As of November 2018. According to Olympus research.

Super-Resolution Microscopy FAQs

What is super-resolution microscopy used for?

Super-resolution microscopy is a technique used to achieve resolution higher than that imposed by the diffraction limit. The IXplore SpinSR microscope was designed to capture fast 3D super resolution images to reveal fine subcellular architecture in 3D samples and to minimize photo damage to samples during time-lapse imaging.

How can I improve my image resolution with Evident's super-resolution microscope solutions?

During widefield fluorescence imaging, the resolution can be improved by optimizing the pinhole diameter and using software. Since an objective’s resolution is determined by its emission wavelength and numerical aperture (NA), choosing a high NA objective lens is an effective way to improve imaging resolution. Evident X Line objectives and our A Line HR objective lens have higher numerical apertures.

To improve the resolution during 3D super resolution of live cells, minimizing spherical aberration due to refractive index mismatch is important. Our A Line silicone oil immersion objectives provide a close refractive index match to that of live cells, enabling brighter and higher resolution 3D imaging with minimal spherical aberration.

How much does a super resolution microscope cost?
