1. General

This software will update the FSX-BSW Ver.02.01, Ver.02.02, Ver.03.01, Ver.03.02 to Ver.03.02.12.

• To check your current version of FSX-BSW, start the FSX-BSW and double-click FSX100 icon as follows.
  
  You can see your version in the version information.

2. Software Modifications

• Main modifications of the FSX-BSW Ver.03.02.12 from Ver.03.02
  • Windows 7 Professional SP1(32bit) was added to corresponding OS.
  • ND filter auto switching function is implemented for 10x objective.
     
• Main modifications of the FSX-BSW Ver.03.02 from Ver.03.01
  • Windows 7 Professional (32bit, not supporting SP1) was added to corresponding OS.
  • The turning OFF function was added on Metal Halide Lamp.
  • The bug that the selection of the option mirror unit is not applied properly was improved.
  • The bug that the acquisition range moves to the unintended position in the stitching setting wizard was improved.
  • The bug that the system is forced to terminate depending on conditions after executing Auto Focus was improved.
     
• Main modifications of the FSX-BSW Ver.03.01 from Ver.02.02
  • Optical zoom (4.2X to 16X) is implemented for observation and image acquisition with the Macro 10X objective.
  • Disable setting is implemented for the auto focus during screen transition (background auto focus).
  • Focusing distance for the oil immersion objective (UPLSAPO60XO, optional) is improved.
     
• Main modifications of the FSX-BSW Ver.02.02 from Ver.02.01
  • Corrected bugs that occurred when closing the software.
  • Corrected measurement calibration and display for the stitching image and the auto-saved macro image.
     
• Main modifications of the FSX-BSW Ver.02.01 from Ver.01.05.
  • Macro image framing and stitching functions are implemented for "LCACHN40XPHP" option objective lens for plastic containers.
  • One shot acquisition function for the macro image is implemented.
  • Rough adjustment control for focusing is implemented.

  In some cases, when using phase contrast to observe your specimen in plastic vessels whose bottom thickness is less than 1mm (1mm), a ghost image of the phase ring may appear. It is suggested to use plastic vessels whose bottom thickness is 1mm or greater to avoid this ghost image. Please note that the ghost image is only apparent with the Macro objective and phase contrast observation method.

  • Capturing a TIFF image with 16bit mode is implemented.
  • 16bit images can be edited.

3. Installation Procedure

1. Before installation
   • This software comes with an "OLYMPUS END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT". Prior to downloading the software, please read the "OLYMPUS END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT". When downloading begins, it automatically assumes that you agreed to this AGREEMENT.
      
2. Download
   • Select the file you want to download from the right side of the page. * Download file name: [FSX-BSW_V030212.exe] (363MB) * Serial number is the alphanumeric characters indicated on your FSX condenser (See the figures below.). The number printed here is the serial number.
     
3. Installation procedure
   • Close all the other applications before installing FSX-BSW and make sure that the main switch on the rear of the unit is set to "Ο" (OFF).
   • Double click on the file "FSX-BSW_V030212.exe" you saved in the procedure 2 to unzip it. Double click setup.exe inside "FSX-BSW_V030212.exe" folder.
   • Proceed the installation by following the instructions given in the installation wizard.

   * The software cannot be installed unless the user account is registered as a "Computer Administrator".
   If the user account is registered as a "Restricted Account", change it to a "Computer Administrator" account.
   (For the user account registration, refer to the instruction manual for your PC.)
   
   * While upgrading this software, the dialog as "Please insert the disk:1" may be displayed and the processes may not be completed. In such a case, copy all installation files to desktop once, and execute again.

4. Verification of version
   • When the installation is complete, start the FSX-BSW and double-click FSX100 icon as follows.
     
     If you see "03.02.12" in the version information, the installation is properly completed.
