ICSI—Past, Present & Future

ICSI—Past, Present Future

In this webinar, Dr. Pai shares What’s New in the Management of Male Infertility with special focus on Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI). He describes the latest diagnostic modalities in male infertility especially sperm DNA fragmentation, genetic testing, cryptozoospermia and Microsurgical TESA in cases of non-instructive azoospermia.

Dr. Pai discusses the latest techniques in sperm selection and deselection such as microfluidics, zeta potential, Magnetic Assisted Cell Sorting (MACS), artificial intelligence enabled sperm selection, physiological ICSI (PICSI), intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection (IMSI) and many more. He dwells on the new techniques of spindle check and Piezo-ICSI as well; and their role in oocyte freezing and cytoplasmic transfer techniques such as spindle transfer and pro-nuclear transfer for treating patients of children with mitochondrial disorders as well as patients with poor quality oocytes. He also talks about the fertilisation rates, congenital malformation rates and perinatal outcome of babies following the treatments of male infertility.

Presenter:

Dr. Hrishikesh Pai

IX3-ICSI/IMSI

The IX3-ICSI system is designed to facilitate the use of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) as part of the in vitro fertilization (IFV) process. Olympus’ relief contrast method enables 3D oocyte observation in plastic dishes to check the zona pellucida condition. The IX3 semimotorized system has an ICSI-dedicated hand switch to instantly change the observation method and magnification with the simple touch of a button. Use the polarization method to observe the spindle and its position to confirm oocyte maturity and avoid damage during injection and the differential interference contrast (DIC) method to perform intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection (IMSI).

  • Optimized for a smoother ICSI workflow
  • Easy oocyte condition checks through spindle visualization
  • Streamlined ICSI steps through motorized operation
Inverted Microscope for Assisted Reproduction

IX73SC

  • Optimized for a smoother ICSI workflow in assisted reproductive technology (IVF)
  • Easy oocyte condition checks through spindle visualization
