Where can I find product documents for my microscope?

Answer

For product documentation such as user manuals and parts diagrams, please fill out our microscope techncial support form.
Our Technical Assistance Center (TAC) should respond to your request within 24 hours. Please also note, requests for material or regulatory certificates will take longer to process, normally 2 weeks.

My BX41/BX45 Microscope light has stopped working…

Answer

Due to the age and/or the amount of use it may have received, the internal power supply for your BX41/BX45 may have failed.If so, we recommend ordering the following electrical replacement kit as well as a new lamphouse for your microscope. The updated electronics in the replacement kit will ensure your BX41/BX45 continues to perform for many years to come. Please Note: Olympus recommends having the electrical replacment kit installed by a trained microscope service person or biomed techncian. Our Technical Assistance Center (TAC) can answer any questions, help troubleshoot, or provide installation assistance over the phone at 1-800-225-8330 opt 4, then opt 1.  To place an order please contact our customer service department at 1-800-225-8330 opt 1.

Answer

Parts and service are no longer supported for the following industrial microscope systems: STM5, OLS1x00, OLS3x00, MX40, MX50, MX80, MX51, MX61, AL110. End of service letters can be requested here .

I have a USB dongle for cellSens - what's the latest version I can run?

Answer

The last version of cellSens to support the USB dongle license is 1.6. Please fill out our microscope techncial support form to if you would like to request an upgrade to Version 1.6.

What versions of cellSens are supported in Windows 10?

Answer

cellSens version 1.15 or greater supports Windows 10 operating environments.

I currently have a cellSens USB dongle license - can I upgrade it to 2.1?

Answer

Please note Olympus no longer offers promotional packages to upgrade your USB dongle license (version 1.6 or below). To puchase a new soft license please contact your local Olympus biological microscope sales representative for options and pricing.

Which version of Stream supports Windows 10?

Answer

Windows 10 compatibility starts with Stream version 2.2 and up. If you have Stream 2.1, you may upgrade to 2.2 free of charge. Please fill out our microscope techncial support form to request upgrade assistance. All previous versions would require a purchased upgrade license. Please contact your local Olympus industrial microscope sales representative for options and pricing.

How can I upgrade my Stream installation to support Windows 10?

Answer

Stream Version 2.2 or higher supports Windows 10 operating  environment. To upgrade your Stream License please contact your local Olympus industrial microscope sales representative for options and pricing.

Can I upgrade Stream from hardware license to a soft license? 

Answer

Yes, we continue to offer Stream upgrades from a hardware (USB Dongle) license to a soft license. A soft license is specific to one PC installation. Contact your local Olympus Industrial Microscopy sales rep .

What is the last build of cellSens/Stream that supports the DP70, DP71 and DP25?

Answer

1.16 for cellSens and 2.2 for Stream, however, these cameras are not supported in Windows 10 operating environment.

What is the correct firewire driver for the DP21 and DP26?

Answer

 In your computer's device manager, go to the driver properties of your IEEE 1394 device and select "Update Driver". Then select to "Browse my computer". On the next screen, choose "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer". Next, choose the OLYMPUS MICROSCOPE 1394 DIGITAL CAMERA SYSTEM and select "Next". Your driver should now be loaded. If you have any questions or need assistance please contact our Technical Assistance Center (TAC) at 1-800-225-8330 opt 4, then opt 1.

Is there an easy way to save my microscope configuration in cellSens? 

Answer

Yes, in the cellsens program go to: Acquire>Devices>Device Settings and click on the floppy disc icon.

Is there an easy way to save my microscope configuration in Stream? 

Answer

Yes, in the Stream program go to: Acquire>Devices>Create System Restore Points. Follow prompts to save configurations.
